Irsha (Bengali/120 mins). Wri. Syed Samsul Haque. Dir. Anant Hira. The play contrasts the beauty and abundance of nature versus the seemingly unnecessary but deep-rooted complexity of human thoughts, lives, relations, and actions. Set against the background of conflict between art with art, and artist with artist – the play also focuses on the inner intellectual depth of the drama and love in human relations. The random conversations between the lead characters, enhanced by changing audio-visual backdrops of the beauty of rural Bengal, establish the writer’s message that jealousy can and does destroy relationships like wildfire. The show is a Delhi Premiere. Prod. Green Room Theatre, India, and Prangonemor Theatre, Bangladesh. Collab. Impresario India.
