A frightened Chinkara (deer) cries for help in the deep recesses of a cold winter night in the desert. A villager Shaitan Singh Bishnoi rushes out to rescue the Chinkara but is shot dead by hunters. He is survived by his wife Pushpa and a 2-year-old son Piyush. Pushpa adopts a baby Chinkara as he has lost his mother and names him Kishan. The film revolves around Kishan and Pushpa. She belongs to the Bishnoi community wherein people lay down their lives to save animals and trees. But will Kishan and many others like him survive the onslaught brought on by so-called development?
